IN THE MOMENT Watercolor Painting
My brother is a licensed falconer in North Carolina. He treated me several times to the experience of handling and flying his hawks. I will never forget the exhilarating feeling I had when his beautiful bird of prey flew toward me head on, focused on the meat I held between my fingers in the heavy leather glove. My brother provided numerous reference photos and taught me a great deal about the red tail hawk’s features and anatomy. This painting reminds me to use heightened awareness and to stay focused on the big picture.
